Pain management in San Diego, without a one-size-fits-all plan

We look for what is driving your pain, using your history, labs when they help, and hands-on care. Then our medical team builds a plan around you, so you are treating the cause and not only the symptom.

Questions

Pain management FAQs

What kinds of pain can you help with?

We see people for back and neck pain, joint pain, headaches and migraines, sports injuries, nerve pain, pelvic and menstrual pain, and chronic or post-surgical pain. Your Doctor will tell you honestly if something else should come first.

Does Acupuncture help with pain?

Many people use Acupuncture for back, neck and joint pain and for headaches. Our Doctors tailor the treatment to you, and we adjust the plan as you progress.

What is PRP?

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, uses a concentrate of your own platelets and is used for some joint and tissue concerns. We will tell you whether it is a fit after we assess you.

Do I need labs or imaging?

Not always. When labs will help us find what is driving your pain, we recommend them. We can also review imaging and records you already have.

Can I keep seeing my current provider?

Yes. We coordinate with your other providers, with your permission, and we never ask you to stop care you are receiving.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on the cause and how long you have had it. Your Doctor will suggest a plan after your first visit and adjust it as you progress.

What does it cost?

New patients can start with a first appointment for $250 (normally $300), or $300 with a full consultation. A discovery call is free. Labs and some treatments are priced separately.

Do you take insurance, and can I use HSA or FSA funds?

We are a direct-pay practice and do not bill insurance. Superbills are available on request, and we accept HSA, FSA, HRA and LSA funds. Your plan administrator decides which services are eligible, so please check with your plan.

When should I seek urgent care instead?

Sudden severe pain, chest pain, loss of strength or numbness, or pain after a serious injury needs urgent medical care. Please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Where are you located?

2555 State Street, Suite 101, San Diego, with the entrance on West Maple Street, just north of Little Italy.
