Why patients book
What our patients come in for
Many of our patients feel “fine” on paper and still sense something is off. These are the concerns we hear most, from Little Italy and Downtown to La Jolla, Del Mar and North Park.
Labs say “normal,” you don’t feel it
We look at where you sit within each range and how markers relate to each other, not just whether something is flagged.
Beyond “normal” →Fatigue and energy crashes
Afternoon crashes, a second wind at midnight, brain fog and coffee doing the heavy lifting.
The energy crisis →Stress showing up in your body
Sleep, digestion, mood and focus shifting during a demanding season of work or life.
The stress blind spot →Gut and digestive health
Bloating, IBS, reflux, food sensitivities and irregularity, with testing when it helps.
Microbiome testing →Hormones and thyroid
Perimenopause, menopause, PCOS, low testosterone, thyroid and cortisol patterns.
Hormone testing →Heart and metabolic health
Blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight and a family history you want to understand.
Heart health markers →Autoimmune and inflammation
Hashimoto’s, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis and IBD, with a plan to calm flares and inflammation.
Autoimmune care →Longevity and a real checkup
A milestone birthday or years since a thorough physical, and a plan for the next decade.
Longevity biomarkers →
The basics
What is integrative medicine?
Integrative medicine combines a conventional medical exam and lab testing with Naturopathic and Chinese Medicine assessment. Instead of treating one symptom at a time, your doctor looks at how your body systems connect and what may be driving how you feel.
We don’t promise quick fixes. We promise time, attention and a clear explanation of what we found, what it may mean and what we suggest next. If something needs urgent or specialist care, we tell you and help you get there. What is an Integrative Physical?
How it fits into your care here
Your findings feed a personal Holistic Health Plan that your whole care team can see, so Acupuncture, nutritional therapy, IV therapy and bodywork are planned around what your doctor learned. Keep your primary care doctor for acute illness and routine screenings; with your permission, we coordinate with them and share results. Our collaborative care model
Your first visit
Your first integrative medicine visit, step by step
Before you arrive
Complete your intake online and gather recent lab reports and a list of your medications and supplements. No fasting needed unless you are having blood drawn that day.
Your story and goals
Your doctor takes time to hear what is going well, what isn’t, and what you want from the next few years, then connects your symptoms and results.
Assessment and labs
A check-in reviews your history and existing labs. The Integrative Physical adds a 12-system exam, pulse and tongue assessment, and an in-house blood draw, usually within a week.
Your plan
You leave with clear, prioritized next steps and a personal Holistic Health Plan, with check-ins typically every 90 days to track progress.

Testing and follow-up
Testing that informs your plan
Testing is recommended by your doctor based on your history and goals, and you get a clear overview of what each test costs before anything is ordered. All lab testing is billed separately.

Questions
Integrative Medicine FAQs
What is the difference between a Holistic Health Check-in and an Integrative Physical?
The check-in is a focused visit to review where you are and plan next steps, often using labs you already have. The Integrative Physical is a two-hour, whole-body assessment with a 12-system exam, pulse and tongue assessment and an in-house blood draw that sets your full baseline. Many patients start with a check-in; your doctor will tell you if the full physical is worth it for you.
How much does an integrative medicine visit cost?
A Holistic Health Check-in uses one medical credit, and new patients can book their first visit and consultation for $300, normally $600, through October 31, 2026. The Integrative Physical is $1,200, or four medical credits for members. Lab testing is billed separately, and your doctor gives you a clear overview before anything is ordered.
How long are the appointments?
Plan for about 120 minutes for the Integrative Physical. Your blood draw is usually scheduled separately, within a week of your visit. A Holistic Health Check-in is a shorter, focused visit.
Can I bring labs from another doctor or lab?
Yes. Results from any lab or provider are welcome, including your primary care doctor, an employer screening or an at-home test. Bring a copy or upload it before your visit.
What should I bring?
Any recent lab reports, a list of your medications and supplements, and your top questions and goals. Nothing else is required.
Should I fast before my visit?
Only if you are having blood drawn. The visit itself needs no fasting. If your exam and blood draw are on the same day, fast for the draw and bring a snack to eat afterward.
Is the Integrative Physical an executive physical?
It covers the ground people expect from an executive health assessment: a long, detailed visit, broad lab work and a plan. The difference is that it connects to ongoing integrative care with our team, not just a report.
Can I keep my primary care doctor?
Yes, and we encourage it. Your primary care physician handles acute illness and routine screenings. With your permission, we coordinate with them and share results.
What happens after my visit?
Once results are in, you review them with your doctor and receive a personal Holistic Health Plan. Most patients do a check-in about every 90 days and repeat the Integrative Physical once a year.
What if something concerning comes up?
Your doctor will explain it clearly and, if needed, refer you to the right specialist or back to your primary care physician. Anything urgent is flagged right away.
Is it covered by insurance or HSA?
We are a direct pay clinic and do not bill insurance. HSA, FSA and LSA dollars can often be used for medical visits and lab testing; check eligibility with your plan administrator. On request, we provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement, plus a letter of medical necessity if applicable.
Do I need to be a member?
No. You can always book à la carte, including the Integrative Physical on its own. Membership unlocks preferred pricing, member-only offers and events, and other perks.
Is this right for everyone?
It suits most adults who want a thorough look at their health and a plan. If you have a medical emergency or need urgent care, this isn't the right visit. Our team can help you decide on a free discovery call.
Where are you located?
2555 State St, San Diego, CA 92101, in Mission Hills just north of Little Italy and a short drive from Downtown.
