DR. JOHN KASAWA

Dr. John Kasawa is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and integrative medicine practitioner with more than two decades of clinical experience spanning primary care, urgent care, occupational medicine, and hospital-based medicine. A graduate of the UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Kasawa also completed his Family Medicine residency at UC San Diego, where he developed a deep appreciation for combining rigorous conventional medical training with holistic, root-cause approaches to patient care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Kasawa has been dedicated to advancing a model of medicine that treats the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. His clinical approach integrates evidence-based Western medicine with functional and lifestyle-focused strategies designed to uncover underlying imbalances, restore physiological resilience, and support long-term health.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kasawa has served for more than seven years as an adjunct clinical professor at Bastyr University, one of the nation’s leading institutions for naturopathic and integrative medical education. In this role, he has helped mentor and train the next generation of naturopathic physicians, fostering collaboration between conventional and integrative medical disciplines.

Dr. Kasawa’s commitment to compassionate, culturally informed care is reflected in his ability to communicate with diverse patient populations, including basic medical Spanish, Chaldean, and Arabic. Beyond his clinical work, he is actively involved in humanitarian efforts supporting displaced minority communities in the Middle East through his service with the Knights of Columbus.

As Medical Director of Saffron & Sage, Dr. Kasawa provides physician leadership for one of the region’s most advanced integrative medical clinics, guiding a multidisciplinary team of practitioners dedicated to delivering collaborative, data-driven, and whole-person care. His vision centers on bridging conventional medicine with innovative integrative therapies to help patients address the root causes of illness, restore balance, and achieve lasting wellness.
