Utilizing Adaptogens for Anxiety

Traditional Chinese medicine recognizes the connection between the mind and the body. When we are emotionally unbalanced, our internal environment is often unbalanced as well. This may lead to symptoms of anxiety.

Anxiety is the sense of nervousness, fear, apprehension and worry. It often effects how we feel, behave and may cause physical symptoms. Stress is not the only major component often associated with anxiety; nutritional deficiencies, and micro biome imbalances have been shown to impact anxiety as well.

Traditional medicine utilizes pharmaceutical drugs to treat anxiety. However, adaptogens have been shown to work just as well. Adaptogens work to ease the nervous system, enhancing the inner connection between the mind and body. Utilizing these in times of fear, stress and worry provide an holistic alternative to traditional treatment.

Adaptogens that have been shown to especially work to calm the mind are Lion’s Mane, Ashwagandha, Moringa and Rhodiola. Please note, this information is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent anxiety.
