The beginning of each season is marked by a Solstice or Equinox - the point during the Earth's orbit around the sun in which it is at its least (Equinox) or greatest (Solstice) distance from the celestial equator.
At the Spring Equinox, Earth’s two hemispheres are receiving the sun’s rays equally. The night and day are approximately equal in length thus beginning the time of year when our days are marked by more light than darkness and the beginning of Spring.
Ancient cultures around the world have long observed the Spring Equinox with festivals and celebrations honoring the change of seasons and shifting their postures and practices to reflect the seasonal invitation.
In our Spring Equinox Circle we will come together to hold space for the change of season by setting our intentions to embrace the new.
We will engage in gentle movements that encourage our body and mind to let go and lean into the Spring theme of rebirth.
Through chanting and meditation we will connect to our center clearing away old energy to prepare for spring.
