The beginning of each season is marked by a Solstice or Equinox - the point during the Earth's orbit around the sun in which it is at its least (Equinox) or greatest (Solstice) distance from the celestial equator.
On the Winter Solstice we mark the shortest period of daylight and the longest night of the year above the equator.
Ancient cultures around the world have long observed the Winter Solstice with festivals and celebrations honoring the change of seasons and shifting their postures and practices to reflect the seasonal invitation.
In our Winter Solstice Circle we will come together to hold space for the change of season by setting our intentions to embrace acceptance and extend respect. Along with the winter solstice energy, we will partner with the energy of the new moon to plant intentional seeds for ultimate reflection of the Self.
We will engage in chi gong and yin yoga to encourage our body and mind to let go and lean into the Winter theme of stillness. Through breath work and meditation we will connect to our center clearing away old energy in order to invite clear energy passage ways. This circle will be accompanied with reiki hands-on healing energy, aromatherapy baths, and a tea ceremony to soothe emotional and spiritual distress.
